In and around the Medina there are bazaars and shops full of Moroccan
handicrafts and art work, from Berber carpets to leatherwork, brass
work, ceramics from Safi, kaftans and djellabas and more – a very
colourful display.

European foods, hardware and pharmaceuticals are available in town,
as are foreign newspapers and cybercafés. Moroccan sim cards for the
local mobile network are readily available to reduce local
communication costs. A larger selection of Western goods is available
at the Marjane hypermarket close to Tangier airport.

In town, outside the Medina, there is a part of town where the
post-office and banks are located; cash may be obtained in local
currency using credit or debit cards.
